Okay, so I've read that KP has to have 2 kit genes to show up.
I am GMTing a stallion right now and had GMTed him homozygous sb1.
And then added KP.
I don't see any KP marking so I'm thinking "2 kit genes" means 2 different kit genes not one kit gene twice.
Correct? lol

As far as I know, you just need another copy of KP. :P

And it can't be roan, right? I have some horses with sabino & roan or roan & tobiano and they're not showing as KP.

A borse has to have kp jn its lines to be KP.

I have a KP mare who is a White Blue Roan splash. Her dam is a granddaughter of dark sun rising and her sire is a grandson of KT arctic shine

And a foundation horse cant be KP unless it is GMT'd on the horse

KP is separate from the actual kit genes. It took me forever to figure this out! So to express /register as KP your horse needs 2 kit genes (can be 2 of the same) and to be homozygous for KP which is a separate gene. Obviously their offspring to a nonKP horse will be carriers, which is why there are so many "possible KP" upper gen horses running around--they are out of carriers so they don't make the registry.

KP expresses as cloudy/foggy/misty patches and is the only unique handdrawn pattern in the game--every KP horse will look different from every other KP horse.

As Baya says, KP, like GP, sooty+ and satin, must be GMTd onto foundations. It is not a naturally occurring gene in the game.

Well that was a total blonde moment. You know I thought you would have to add two copies to be homozygous but when you look at the genes for KP and GP they only have 1 button not 2 like some of the other genes in the GMT lab. So I was then thinking maybe you just added one and they were homozygous lol silly me. So my problem is just that I need to add another copy of KP not that I need to have two different kit genes (since I GMTd him two copies of sabino1)

Yes. Yes that would be the problem! Remember once they have live foals on the ground you can't GMT them anymore

I know thank you :) thats why I sucked it up and bought five more GMTs (I had 5 left). Having him be het KP is almost pointless lol. However I think they must have to have one copy of two different kit genes because his cloud-like marking still didnt show up. I'm not super worried about it because he still has the genes he just doesn't show it lol. I dont have anymore GMTs (or extra money now lol) or I would change one of his sabino1 genes to a sabino2 gene.

Anyway here is the pretty boy in case anyone was interested in seeing him :) I'm pretty excited about him

Moon, try rerolling him a couple of times, sometimes if they have low white factor (I am not sure this has anything to do with it, but it might), they just have tiny whispy KP markings that are hard to see. I'm a little bit addicted to rerolling my KP horses, because the markings are completely dynamically generated (meaning 2 will never look the same).

ABBEY YOU JUST MADE MY DAY. Thank you! It worked!! I've never rerolled any horses before but I am so happy that he got his KP marking lol. I only had to reroll once.
