Vertical striping on Appaloosas
-
So, I've noticed that some appys tend to have tattered vertical "striping", like these two pretty boys, and I really like the look. Is this just an effect of the brindling, or can it be bred for?

It's the brindle interacting with the white markings. Not even specific to brindle appies.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.

Gotta love the brindle. I've got a related question, though - when I read the title of the discussion, here's what I thought this would be about:

See those stripes in the girth area? Are those breedable, or just a chance of the portrait generation?ID 45703 | he/himOpen barn policy - no closed lines! I'm always selling straws and eggs from anything I have that catches your eye, don't hesitate to PM me and ask! -
That's an excellent question. I love those stripes. :)

I'm right there with Lallyhop. I thought the post would be asking about appy rib striping. It's one of the neat oddities of some app patterns that has always interested me. :)
