@WhiteMountain: each “share bonus” is added to your total number of available creates when another player clicks on your Herd Helper share link. As the rank number increases, the number of shares and the bonus for each share) decreases. You can see these numbers at the top of each HH.

This was a Rank 4 HH, so I had less total creates than I would get with a Rank 1.

Rank alone does not affect quality of your creates, so do not let that deter you from using HH with lower ranks, especially if it is a genetic combo you like : ) My hom cream HH gave me 25 creates even before any shares were activated, and their potential quality range is no different from these champagne appaloosas. If all my shares are used, I could make an additional 50 horses.
