All horses will be at least heterozygous(Zz) for the silver gene, but might also be homozygous (ZZ). Red based horses will carry the gene, but not show it. Possible colors include silver black, silver bay, silver brown, silver buckskin etc. Horses might be patterned or solid.

Wow! On my iPad, I honestly can't tell if this is a silver brown or a silver black! I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I don't have enough to color test him. It's been a rough season. :PPurple Sage Estates - 129 -
