Average Price Stats - Done
-
Hey everybody! I'm working on a new project: average prices! I've started a smaller list for myself, but I'd love to expand and share with everyone!
Since many people are uncertain on where to price their horses, I'd like to create a table that lists the average price based on numbers I collect from you fine folks! This is also to try and stabilize crazy high/low changes on a whim. Being that the market does inflate and deflate, I'm planning to re-evaluate every couple months or so (a time to be determined later). This table would be geared more towards the sought out genes (ie snowflake, KP, sooty+, fantasy genes, DP, etc) rather than typical blacks, bays, palominos--like the regular creates, because those are at standard 2500 and not likely to change without Ammit approval. :)
Interested? If so, I'd like your help! Please post here or send me a PM with a link/list specifying what genes your horse(s) have and what you charge for straws/covers/foals.

I don't think you will make any headway on this to be honest. Prices change constantly your table would be out of date before it was even finished. It also supposes the value of a horse is in the genes which really isn't the core deciding factor.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

It certainly wouldn't be anything definite or absolute, more of a starting place. And it also would not take into account anything other than genes (like breeding ability, showing) so owners would still be making a choice, not taking this table as law--which I don't want this to come off as!
I just think it would be a neat idea to have a generalization, an average, to reference when determining prices. :)
I also suppose people would take it how they want, not necessarily how I'd want it to be interpreted. :-?ID# 25784 -

I think it won't be very useful then to be honest. A 5th gen B papered snowflake is worthless to most people, a foundation might be a few million.Need to contact me? Read this first. That's very true. I suppose I'll keep it to myself as reference then, simply because I had no plans to account for generation or paper level. :)ID# 25784
