    My friend lost her mare Chatter today. She colic this morning a little after 8 am. They had to put her down a little after 5 tonight. She never did poop. They walked her and tried trailering her to no avail. This is a friend of mine that had to put Chatters baby down last week because he was born with no eyes. This has been very hard on them and us as well. My boys rode Chatter when we first joined 4h. That was 2 years ago. Chatter was just 15 years old.

    Thanks Sandy. Her kids are at home today. Her other horse doesn't understand. That horse is taking it hard.

    I've known that to happen with horses. I think it's especially hard if two of them are good friends, or if they're the only two together.

    Lucky and Chatter were in a field of 10 but they stayed together all the time.
