You can make money either by selling horses, or collecting your weekly salary after the rollover at midnight between Saturday and Sunday. Also, when you show your horses, they collect show points and each week at the rollover you receive a bonus based on how many points your horses have. Most players make their money with this show bonus rather than selling horses or relying on the small weekly salary. A string of show horses all earning points each week can start making you a lot of money. :)
