Worth GMTing consistant?
-
So I decided to use up some surplus straws last season and ended up with a lovely A papered 2g colt. Inconsistant though. He did pass SBA. Problem is that I don't breed liver chestnuts so his worth to me would be as a public stud. Would it be worth it to GMT him consistant? I have enough to buy them but would need to make back the IVs I spent..

That's up to you. If you think he's' worth the 250k it takes to buy a GMT then go for it. But if you aren't gonna use him as a stud, then I would say save that money for breeding or showing :)Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755

I would say you are highly unlikely to make 250k in stud fees on him. With a slightly higher PT he might do better in the show ring to help earn his keep via your show bonus, but he’s still unlikely to get a PT of 10.0 or more... it’s up to you but I would be inclined not to spend the hbs.
