    We know we can get to A/blue paper in 2nd gen, but can we get to *Star/*Gold in 3rd gen?

    I've always looked at it as "levels" of horses. You start with lower levels and it's pretty easy to get to the next level with them. But then you breed horses of that level together and you get ones that are still better than where you started, but not at the next level yet. And so on and so forth. I imagine it's possible, with the right set of circumstances and a whole lot of luck :)

    Yes, I have bred a *Star third gen horse. He had one Exceptional foundation in his lineage but that's all the boosting he had. I sold him, and it was a long time ago, don't know if the new owner renamed him or what his name was to look him up.

    NM, I lied. He was 4th gen. That is the lowest I have gotten a *Star. But that was before the advent of boosts, with boosts you could easily get a *Star by third.

    If you are starting with regular creates (and no boosts), I am fairly sure that the earliest you can possibly get a star/gold is 4th gen, and those are extremely rare. With exceptional producers and boosts it is possible to get them by 3rd gen. I have 5 at the moment on HJ1. All of them have exceptional producers, at least 1 of which had an extra 5% boost, for grandparents. You probably have the same chance of getting star/gold 3rd gens from unboosted exceptional producers as you do of getting star/gold 4th gens from regular creates (i.e. very, very rarely).
    Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses. Liver chestnut, DP mushroom, and rose gray riding horses. Dun cobs with all the patterns. Watercolor, Wrong Warp and ice on mixed body types.
