How to tell Het or Hom DP?

Well, mom is at least het DP so she could have passed it on to him. It is possible dad is as well. He is a lot darker then his mom. My opinion is dad is het DP too and your little guy is homo DP.

I say homozygous. He's significantly darker than his mom, who is heterozygous.

@FJ the dad is definitely at least het DP because the grandsire is a Freaky Friday.

Yes, Your right. I knew FF horses are DP but I forgot they are Homo DP not Het DP :)

Thanks guys, I am just getting into DP now. Yes Star, the colt I bought of you is finally old enough to breed. He gave me a fair few stunning babies, but this boy is probably one of the better ones :)
