GMTing a Horse

I am attempting to GMT a horse's gray gene. Changing it from gG to gg so the gray won't show, but it is not letting me. It says the horse already has that gene, but it only has on copy. Am I missing something?

It should let you do it. His dam is gG and sir is gg. Make sure you click on the large G first because that's the one you want to change.
