Misconceptions. Did you have any about the game?

I did when I was starting out I would stay away from splash and frame together. I thought it was lethal when combined (I know it can be if the foal has too much white, increased my splash and frame).

I still don't like Frame in my herd, but I have other lethals, so I'm probably going to eventually get that, too. I think I have a couple of mares with it now, but I got a decent stud last season who got it and I gelded him.

An all white frame and splash horse won't die. It's the KIT genes that you have to worry about having too much white :)

Also lethal are homozygous frame, homozygous splash 2, homozygous splash 3, or combination of splash 2 + splash 3.

Homozygous Frame - Frame to Frame - 1 in 4 chance of getting a LW foal.

Homozygous Splash 2 to Homozygous Splash 3 - 1 in 4 chance of getting a LW foal.

Homozygous Splash 2 - Splash 2 to Splash 2 - 1 in 4 chance of getting a LW foal.

Homozygous Splash 3 - Splash 3 to Splash 3 - 1 in 4 chance of getting a LW foal.

Splash 1 though is SAFE when Homozygous - Splash 1 to Splash 1

Splash 1 though is SAFE when Homozygous, or in combination with any other of the Splashes - Splash 1 to Splash 2, or Splash 1 to Splash 3.

I don't think I had any misconceptions of the game. Though I was ignorant of the generations initially. :)

I suppose it's more of a plan that went awry. Since frame is lethal with itself, I told myself that I was NOT going to keep it in my herd. Several months later and I'm drooling at my w8 frame babies.

@obsidian I just try to keep Frame out of my stallions. That way I don't have to be careful about it and I can have a ton of mares with it.

When I first found the game, I was rather intimidated by the preliminary information, so I pointed my genetics loving daughter at the game. She created an account, and I found myself so intrigued that I watched over her shoulder while she played for 8 months before I decided to create my own account.

I still find the game challenging, but its fascination has long overcome my uncertainty about being able to play it.
