How much is this colt worth? 2G A papered and het KP

    I have a 2G A papered het KP colt that I'm looking to sell. He's consistent and has a 10.7 PT. He's a draft and I'd prefer to have a warmblood or sport pony colt for myself. I own the sire and I have a bunch of exceptional producer/exceptionally perfect mares to breed to him so I'll have plenty of chances to get the colt that I really want.

    The problem is that I have no idea how much my colt is worth. This is my first season breeding for KP so I really have no clue. I can't find many posts or sale ads for colts like him. I requested to join the KP breeders buddy chat a couple days ago but I haven't been accepted yet. There's someone who's interested in my colt but the problem is that she doesn't know what he's worth either. So if anyone is willing to give me their opinion on what he's worth, that would be great! Thank you!

    A RS foundation who was homo KP recently sold for over 500k I would say he's worth 300K or more only because he'e het, maybe 200k. What a horse is worth though really comes down to how much people are willing to pay. Prices are fluid and change constantly. As long as a price can be agreed upon and both sides are happy then I would say do it. With all the RS having been released and the new Rank 5's people don't have a lot of extra money floating around so prices are going to be pretty low.

    Would he be worth that much though since he's lined and not a foundation? Thanks for your help! I might hang onto him for a bit then and try a forum auction in a few weeks once everyone's had a chance to get some hbs back in their bank accounts.

    Not even vaguely close. He's worth more like 10k.

    Thanks Ammit! I was guessing around 10k-25k depending on who was buying, how badly they wanted him, and how high inflation was at the time. It seems like inflation is pretty low right now since everyone's spending their hbs on all these awesome RS and exceptional producers instead of saving up all their money.

    For a 2g A papered colt I'd pay around 15k, more if he's superior to his sire.

    I would have said between 10 and 20 in general for an A Papered gen 2 het KP. The fact that he only has one Kit gene and can't have a second GMTd on would put him at the low end of that range for me.

    Yes he does comparison test as superior to his sire.
