Color Question
-
I'm sure I've just missed it, but I'm really curious as to what this pattern is called. Is it something that can be reproduced?
Transcendent -
It's a tack pack item, not a real pattern. If you go to the tack page, scroll down to "Hide" (after "head" and you will see " Paint on Zebra Stripes"!
-
Oh cool, ok. I was wondering why I couldn't find it anywhere on the genetics pages. Thank you! I'm really new if you couldn't tell. Lol

I have a colour question. Is brindle a colour/pattern that can be passed on? I'm tempted to buy some brindles to breed buy if it can't be passed down I won't bother. It's ok I found my answer, sorry to jump on the post.I'm trying and having fun doing it.
-
I don't think brindle can be passed on like you mean, but I think that having brindle in the lines slightly increases the chance that a foal will be brindle. Not too sure though, I don't focus on it.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

^Yes having brindle parents can increase the chances of a brindle foal, but it is very slightly. Brindle is not genetic and breeding brindles is very rare. But it's always a fun surprise when one pops up in your barn :DBluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755

So I was wondering what colouring would I get if I bred my solid bay tb mare with an APHA stallion??
-
Are you talking about real horses or game horses here? If it's game horses, having a link to their pages would be a great help. You can find the code for pasting that information at the bottom of a horse's Info tab.
If you're talking about real-life horses (and your use of APHA for the stallion makes me thing you might be) then we need to know more than the fact that the mare is a bay and the stallion is an appaloosa to have a chance to guess. The actual color of the stallion needs to be known, in order to have any chance of guessing the color of the foal. LLp is a pattern gene, not a color gene. The stallion probably has a 50% chance of passing Llp to a foal, unless he is homozygous for Llp. If he is, you can tell because he will probably have a white blanket with no spots in it. Is he bay, chestnut, palomino, black?De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

APHA is paints. ApHC is apps.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.

Thanks for the correction, Ammit.
Can you tell I don't really do much in the real horse world? :D
Anyway, we still need to know the color of the stallion's coat in order to make any reasonable predictions.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
