    Please excuse the noob questions - I know that snowflake only shows on appaloosas if both copies of the gene are present. Can you have a non appaloosa that the snowflake does not show on, but will pass on snowflake genes, or does the horse have to be an appaloosa to carry snowflake and pass it on?

    A horse can carry snowflake and pass it on even if it is not an Appaloosa. The snowflake would just be hidden.
