Mare Quality
  • I have quite a few foundation mares who are patterned that I would cull because they're really not producing great foals.... BUT since the game hasn't produced any patterned foundations to speak of in three months/game years, I'm hesitant to do so. (I haven't seen many patterned foundies for sale in ages either, but I assume they're worth a fortune right now!)

I'm concerned my herd quality is going to suffer, but on the other hand 1. I don't have the money to GMT everything and 2. I don't want to make a bunch of chestnuts and bays. Blah.

Is anyone else having this problem?
  • I sell off anything that does not produce what I want. I have sold my patterened foundations for create price.

  • I know I have ZERO patterned foundations at all. I haven't even seen one HH come up at all for anything other than Rank one normal stuff in forever. I would be willing to bet that the best way to get a patterned horse is just go on a regular create spree and see if you get lucky. I personally am using HJ2 to breed the best quality stuff I can breed and not worrying about color. I am too vested into HJ1 on my colored horses to start over, so this was a great option for me. I am finding that I don't mind having a barn full of bays and chestnuts because they are good quality and are producing good breeders and show stock. I would say just cull anything, regardless of color, that isn't fitting your breeding plans. You will be better off in the long run for it.
  • How bad are the foals they are producing? If they are throwing under 9PT then yeh it would be best to get rid of them. I have few pattered foundies, mostly they have produced ok I guess, I ended up having to gmt more though the get the colours I wanted. Your best option I reckon is to buy from foundation rescue and then breed to the coloured stallions up for stud. There is quite a few you can breed to, and many reasonably priced too
