Generations?
-
Okay guys
Another question. Sorry if it has been asked before
Most of my mares are foundations. I have 2 stallions that I think are generation 6.
Am I best to breed these mares to a foundation stallion instead of my higher generation boys? -
Ok, first, there is no right or wrong way to play this game. You should do what you want.
There was recently a thread that discussed this at length. I will see if I can find it and link it for you. But the other thing I will say is that as a new player, there is absolutely nothing wrong with buying and creating some horses and breeding them and just having a play. You may decide to change tactics later as you decide what colors you like best and what you want to focus on and breed in a more conventional sense, but that can always come later! -

Here is that thread. It helps explain the rationale behind breeding evenly. -
Thank you!

It's not really mentioned there, but the reason I breed even generations has nothing really to do with trying to get the same quality for more intact foals. I breed the same generations because increasing quality with each generation is my main goal in playing this game. If I breed mixed generations I have no benchmarks and to me is just random breeding. By breeding foundations together, then 2nd generations together etc I have clear expectations for increasing quality and gives me my personal satisfaction in playing the game! Of course I like to add in my favourite colours too!
