"Best of the bunch" for multiple pastures
-
This is my first month utilizing the automatic breeding. I have four pastures and I wanted to be sure everyone got bred with plenty of time to sort before the end of the month. I did not realize that "best of the bunch" included all of the pastures which leads to my question.
How do I figure out the best of each pasture? What is the most economical way?
I have one foundation pasture, two second generation pastures, and a third generation pasture so my best foal was this fourth generation colt out of my third generation pasture. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=532929 (Don't mind his name. He will get a much better one later :P ) I'm not surprised because I'm trying to improve the bloodline while also incorporating my desired patterns and a fourth generation colt should be superior to a second and third generation colt. But now I'm in a pickle for figuring out my second and third generations. -
Easiest way is to take all the foals out of the 3rd gen pasture and run the breed all pastures button again
-
Does that work? It may, of course. I've never tried it.
My strategy would be to leave stallions in only 1 pasture before the 14th of the month and then put stallions into the other pastures one pasture at a time and hit breed all pastures. Then you should get a message for the results of each pasture's breeding. I've never tried that way either, so I'm working in the dark.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Your really only supposed to get one email a season.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Thanks! I appreciate the help.
This was the first season I actually had enough hbs to breed all the horses at once. And I added two pastures to my stable while the sale was going on. So this is new to me. -
I'll probably change it so it only emails you once a season no mater what.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
